What is the Northern Dutchess Hospital Mothers' Club?
The Mothers' Club is a nonprofit group that volunteers its time to raise funds for the benefit of women's and children's services at Northern Dutchess Hospital (NDH). Since 1953, the Club has contributed over $450,000 to NDH by hosting elegant dinner dances, silent auctions, fashion shows and other fundraising events that not only raise important dollars, but also bring together members of the community to highlight the important mission of the Mothers' Club and the Hospital. In recent years, funds have supported the Neugarten Family Birth Center renovation in October of 2000, specifically, by supporting the addition of a water-birth tub for laboring moms, and a dedicated children's corner in the visitors' lounge, something dad's and grandparents have been particularly appreciative of. Further, the Club has sponsored the infant abduction alarm system, birthing beds, blood pressure monitors, the baby photo program, and many other necessities and niceties for the Center. In addition to the Club's dedication to the maternity unit, other projects adopted by the Club have included sponsoring a children's corner at The Thompson House, purchasing a state-of-the-art mammography unit, ensuring that women from around the region have the very best first line defense against breast cancer, something the Club has been proud to support, and, in June of 2003, the Club announced an extraordinary new level of commitment when it announced its $150,000 pledge to support The Campaign for Northern Dutchess Hospital. The Mothers' Club has created a wonderful bridge to the community and its members have helped create a warm and cheerful atmosphere that they can be proud of. OTHER PROGRAMS AND PROJECTS The Mothers' Club sponsors the following programs:
COME JOIN US...... Would you like to become a part of this wonderful organization? Meetings are held the first Monday of each month (September - June) at 7:00 p.m. at Northern Dutchess Hospital and new members are always welcome.
