Best Pulled Pork
Submitted by Denise Morett
4-5 lb pork roast (boneless from the butt or similar)
1 pkge taco seasoning mix (or make your own)
1 large (28 oz) BBQ sauce (Sweet baby Rays)
Put roast in crock pot and sprinkle with taco seasonings. Fill crock pot with water until half way up the side of roast. Set on low and cook overnite. In morning, drain most of liquid. Remove roast and cut off string if still attached. Shred roast removing fat. Discard fat. Return roast to crock pot. Add BBQ sauce and mix to combine. Cook on low all day. Can stir occasionally and add water or more BBQ sauce if desired.
Goes well with salad and a corn-type bread at backyard BBQ's and can be kept warm in crock pot on low. Can also serve on rolls for a traditional southern BBQ sandwich.
